Description	:	Funeral services for Roy R. Vesely age 83, of Verdigre will be held Thursday July 9. at 10:00 a.m. at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Verdigre. Pastor Paulo de Tarso Ribeiro will officiate with burial in Pischelville Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #223 of Verdel, NE. Roy died Sunday, July 5, 2009 at Alpine Village in Verdigre. Roy R. Vesely was born January 2, 1926 at Pishelville, NE to Katie and Mike Vesely. He was the youngest son of an immigrant father and mother. He was born and raised on the Vesely homestead south of Pischelville. He attended school at Pischelville and served his country for 2 years in the United States Army. He was stationed in Okinawa and was honorably discharged in December 14, 1946. On February 10, 1951, he married Lena Mae Tonner at Verdel, NE. He farmed with his wife on the family farm, moving to Verdigre in 2009. He enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables and sharing his produce with others. Survivors include his wife, Lena, of Verdigre; sons, Randy Vesely and wife, Susan, and family of Norfolk, Wayne Vesely and family of Pilger, Terry Vesely and wife Deb, and family of Central City, NE; 9 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; one brother; 4 sister in laws; and 2 brother in laws. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Otto, Leo, and Art; a son, Les Vesely; and granddaughter, Michaela Vesely. Contributor: Matt Fischer (50250108)
