He lived his life in the Douds, Selma, and Lebanon communities, and graduated from Douds High School with the class of 1930. Read More	ROY ROSCOE HANEY Roy Roscoe Haney, son of Roy and Eva Marshall Haney, was born October 28, 1911, near Douds and departed this life Wednesday, September 25, 1974, at his home in Douds at the age of 62. He lived his life in the Douds, Selma, and Lebanon communities, and graduated from Douds High School with the class of 1930. He and his parents operated the telephone exchanges at Lebanon and Douds for a number of years. He later was employed at Finney's Grocery and the past twelve years had been associated with Pedricks' Store. Roscoe was Financial Secretary of Starlight Lodge No. 350, Knights of Pythias, a position he had held for several years. He was also a member of Douds Temple No. 104, Pythian Sisters and Van Buren Lodge No. 350, Independent Order of Odd Fellows at Selma and the Douds Community Club. Remaining to cherish his memory are his sister, Mrs. Marian Heckart of Ottumwa, three nieces, Alice Heckart of St. Peters, Missouri, Frances and Carol Heckart, both of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, other relatives and many friends. He will be remembered for the devotion with which he cared for his parents during their declining years, his love for his relatives, and his service to the community in many ways. Funeral services were held Friday, September 27, 1974, at 2 P.M. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Gerald Caughron and the Rev. Donald Strauch officiating. Vocalists were Mrs. Keith A. Smith and Mrs. Robert Pedrick, accompanied by Kathleen Pedrick. Knights of Pythias and Odd Fellows served as Honorary Pall Bearers. Active bearers were Raymond and Morris Finney, Stanley Wilson, Aaron Fellows, Ellis Barker and James Zeitler. Interment was in the Leando Cemetery.
