Bock, 89, Little Sioux died Feb. 1, 2008 at his home. Roy was born Dec. 1, 1918 to John and Clara (Grandgenett) Bock on the family farm near Mondamin. Roy attended school until the 9th grade when heart problems forced him to stay at home with his parents and help his dad farm. In later years, he worked for Don Maule as a farm laborer. Roy enjoyed gardening, flowers, movies and selling raffle tickets for the Little Sioux Homecoming Association. He also really enjoyed playing cards and baseball games. Roy served on the Little Sioux City Council for several years and was Town Treasurer from 1964-1966. He was Township Assessor for several years. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold and Orville; and nephew, Larry Bock. Survivors include: his sisters, Wilma McManigal, Plattsmouth, Neb.; and Arlein Versch, Omaha; brother, Albert Bock and his wife, Catherine, Missouri Valley. Funeral Services were held Feb. 5 at the Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home, Missouri Valley, Evangelist John Lizer, officiant. Musician was Lyle Waterhouse. Honorary Casket Bearers were: Robert McManigal, Terry Clift, Darwin McManigal, and Joe Swansberg. Casket Bearers were: William Berg, Joseph Schmitz, Richard Grandgenett, Fred Smith, Patrick Bock, and Dr. Donald Grandgenett. Interment was in the Magnolia Cemetery.
