Description : Roy Wilton Lawson was instantly killed on October 2, 1949, due to an automobile accident on the Lockhart -Chester Highway in Chester County. He was the son of Roy Cline Lawson and Gertrude Prince Lawson of Union.

Lawson had just been discharged from the Army at Fort Jackson. After graduating from Union High School he studied two years at Clemson. He was a member of Green Street Methodist Church.
