Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2008, at Union United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Dad was the son of the late Jesse Enoch and Cora Belle Bouknight Folk of Irmo. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years, Nina Younginer Folk. He is survived by his brother, Marion O. (Billy) Folk of Irmo; 2 sons, Ron Folk of Kingsport, TN, and his wife Debbie and Stan Folk of Chapin, SC, and his wife Judy. Dad was Blessed with 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. As a U.S. Navy seaman, Dad defended this great Nation in WW II aboard the USS Melvin in the Pacific fleet. As a true soldier, Dad demonstrated throughout his life why he was a part of the Greatest Generation that has ever lived. Thank you Dad for our early years of fishing at Campbell's and Revo's ponds, the countless dove hunts (no doves) but we were together and those awesome hot August swims in Lake Murray. Hand building and making a garage at our first home with Ron and Dad for teaching us for not only learning to be on time, but to follow that "Folk" trait of being one hour early. Thank you for being to our family that exemplary model of what the man is to be to the family. A man of God who demonstrated his faith and love through the Lord Jesus Christ daily. The family extends its direst thanks and gratitude to the ER and 5th Floor MICU of Richland Palmetto Health who loved and cared for us all through this time. © The State, Columbia, SC, 16 Jan 2008
