Description	:	Roy Marcell Demo was born July 2, 1875 in Iowa. He was the son of Marcell Demo and Mathilda Smith. He married (1) Rose Esser about 1897 and they had 3 sons, Ray, Marvin and Earl. Both Roy and Marvin died as children, and Rose died in childbirth with Earl in 1914. Roy married (2) Lizzie Crouse November 3,1915, in Charles City, Floyd Co., IA, when Earl was a baby. Read More	Roy Marcell Demo was born July 2, 1875 in Iowa. He was the son of Marcell Demo and Mathilda Smith. He married (1) Rose Esser about 1897 and they had 3 sons, Ray, Marvin and Earl. Both Roy and Marvin died as children, and Rose died in childbirth with Earl in 1914. Roy married (2) Lizzie Crouse November 3,1915, in Charles City, Floyd Co., IA, when Earl was a baby. She raised Earl but, in June 1929, Lizzie divorced Roy in Mason City, Cerro Gordo County, IA., and she legally took back her maiden name. She and the Crouse family continued to have contact with Earl. A year later, according to the 1930 Fed census for Cerro Gordo Co., IA, Roy was listed with a wife named Clara so he apparently married a 3rd time. However, when he died, Roy's spouse was listed as Rose and his marital status was widower. The informant was his son, Earl. Roy died at the Heron Lake Hospital in Heron Lake, Jackson Co., MN. His usual residence at that time was a PO address of Storden, MN., in Cottonwood County. His occupation was farming. On June 9, 1950, while working at the/a farm in Cottonwood County, MN., Roy had an accident when a rafter of a building fell on his leg. He died of tetanus due to a contusion and abrasion of the leg. He died at 3:00am on June 20, 1950 and was buried in Rockwell Cemetery, Rockwell, Iowa, on June 22, 1950.
