Description	:	Royal Pete Christenson, the son of Pete and Emma (Fjell) Christenson, was born in Marquette, Nebraska on March 2, 1914 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on October 30, 2003, at the age of 89. Read More	Royal Pete Christenson, the son of Pete and Emma (Fjell) Christenson, was born in Marquette, Nebraska on March 2, 1914 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on October 30, 2003, at the age of 89. He grew up in Hamilton County and attended Country School through the 8th grade. Royal served in the U. S. Army during World War II as a combat veteran and entered Europe through Normandy Beach on the third day of the invasion. As a tank mechanic, Royal fought in the Black Forest of Germany. Royal was united in marriage to Anna Marie Jensen on June 10, 1942 at Aurora. Upon returning from the war, Royal worked as a John Deere tractor mechanic. Thereafter Royal worked at the Farmers Union Association for many years, where he collected cream and eggs from farmers across Hamilton County. In addition to his full-time jobs, he was a town farmer, whose passion was to raise wheat. Royal and Anna celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 10, 1992. Anna passed away on January 24, 1997. Royal was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Lions Club and active at the Senior Center. Royal was a proud citizen of Aurora, where he enjoyed meeting and greeting all of his friends throughout the town. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; three brothers, Fredolph, Lawrence and Raymond Christenson and three sisters, Mabel Andersen, Maxine Hutsell and Gladys Wolff. Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons, David and his wife Sharon of Wheatridge, Colorado and Carl and his wife Marynell of Snellville, Georgia; 3 granddaughters, Angie, Courtney and Kelly; 2 step-grandchildren, Michael and Carrie-Anne Caputa and 2 great-grandchildren, Bailee and Bryson. He is also survived by his twin brother, Roland Christenson and one sister, Darlene Holloway both of Aurora.
