Description	:	UNION - Ruben Barkley Rollins, 79, of 212 Betty Blvd., Lexington died July 18, 2000, at the Lexington Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Newport, Tenn., he was the husband of Flossie Lee Kendrick Rollins and son of the late Jake and Carrie Belle Miller Rollins. He was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills of Simpsonville. Read More	UNION - Ruben Barkley Rollins, 79, of 212 Betty Blvd., Lexington died July 18, 2000, at the Lexington Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Newport, Tenn., he was the husband of Flossie Lee Kendrick Rollins and son of the late Jake and Carrie Belle Miller Rollins. He was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills of Simpsonville. Surviving in addition to his wife are four daughters, Wanda McGuire of Lyman, Elsie Sutcliffe of Lexington, Diane Edwards of Cray Court and Connie Hollingsworth of Fountain Inn; two sons, Terry Rollins of Greenville and Tommy Rollins of Union; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Mitch Edge. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery with military rites. The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-9 tonight. The family is at the home of his son Tommy Rollins, 137 Short St., Union. S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
