Ruben Carl Kludt was born Dec. 10, 1915, to Edward and Emma (Zeeck) Kludt at Yale where he received his education. In 1941 he married Edna Baum and they had three children. She died in 1963. He worked for Armour & Company from 1939-45. On June 21, 1945, he entered the Army and served oversees in Germany with the Occupation Army. He was discharged July 9, 1946. In 1947 he bought the Brown Derby Supper Club in Huron. He managed the Plains from 1958-69, the Frontier Lounge in Winner and the American Legion Club in Huron from 1976-80. In 1966 he married Millie Wynn and in 1976 he married Grace Scheel, who died in 2000. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, life member of Forrest McMullen Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1776 of Huron, William Reaves American Legion Post 7 of Huron, 40 et 8 and the Elks Lodge. His interests included fishing, hunting and all sporting events, especially bowling and golfing. He is survived by a son, Rollie (Pam) of Watertown; two daughters: Myrna (Carl) Jones of Belfair, Wash., and Bonnie Horton (Lloyd Freese) of Huron; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and two sisters: Marie Baker and Doris Gross, both of Deadwood. He was preceded in death by two wives: Edna and Grace; three brothers: Curt, Eddie and Alvin; a sister, Vera Doering; two sisters-in-law: Violet Kludt, and Dee Kludt; and three brothers-in-law: Gerry Doering, Howard Baker and Pete Gross.
