Description	:	A newspaper clipping in The Sargent Leader, 3 Sep 1931, Sargent, NE reads: RUBE TRINDEL ACCIDENTALLY KILLED. The friends of Ruben Trindel who reside about twenty seven miles northwest of Sargent were greatly shocked to learn that he had met death by the accidental discharge of his shot gun about noon Thursday. The friends of Ruben Trindel who reside about twenty seven miles northwest of Sargent were greatly shocked to learn that he had met death by the accidental discharge of his shot gun about noon Thursday. August 27th. He had been cutting corn with a corn knife and as he did so placed the loose fodder on a sled. When ho had a enough for a bundle he would tie it and have the horse pull it to a shock. The top of the sled was a steel scoop end gate and very smooth. He had evidently started home for dinner and most likely was standing up on this sled and holding his gun as a brace. As he crossed a ditch he probably slipped and in catching himself in some way caused the discharge of the gun. The full load entered his chest just above the heart, Although that organ was not penetrated by the shot, death, was probably instantaneous. He leaves a wife and six children, three boys and three girls. The funeral was held at the Congregational church at Taylor at 2:80 o'clock last Sunday afternoon, a very large crowd being present. Interment was made in the Taylor cemetery.
