Description	:	Funeral services for Ruby Reeker, age 82, of Meadow Grove will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Battle Creek, Nebraska. Inurnment will be at a later date at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Battle Creek. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at St. John's Parish Hall in Battle Creek. Born September 4, 1929 to Frank and Wilma (Stolle) Wisch at Meadow Grove, NE. She attended St. John's Lutheran School in Battle Creek and High School in Battle Creek graduating in 1946. On June 26, 1949, she was married to Gene Reeker of Meadow Grove, NE. To this union was born five daughters, Suzanne (George) Yager of Jackson, TN, Becci (Jim) Monaghan of Omaha, NE, Genie Kudym of Omaha, NE, Mari (Stan) Santa of Omaha, NE, and Sherri (Shawn) Finney of Des Moines, IA. In 2010, Ruby and Gene were awarded the Pioneer Farm Family award for 100 years of continuous ownership of the farm which Ruby's grandparents purchased in April 1910. Ruby was an avid gardener and a great cook. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son in infancy; and one son-in-law. She leaves to mourn her husband of nearly 62 years; five daughters; twelve grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
