Description	:	Ruby Bernita Ullrich, age 93, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Powder River Manor in Broadus, Montana, where she had been living for 5 years. Ruby was born September 7, 1922 in Scranton North Dakota the only daughter of Paul and Mary Griff. She and her six brothers attended elementary and high school in Scranton. Read More	Ruby Bernita Ullrich, age 93, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Powder River Manor in Broadus, Montana, where she had been living for 5 years. Ruby was born September 7, 1922 in Scranton North Dakota the only daughter of Paul and Mary Griff. She and her six brothers attended elementary and high school in Scranton. Ruby was the only member of her family to graduate high school. She attended Presentation Nursing School and became an RN in 1945. Ruby worked as an RN for 3 years. She married Karl Ullrich on December 5, 1948, and moved to The Watters ranch in Powder River County where Karl was employed. They raised 2 sons, Victor Karl who was born in 1953 and Vernon Paul who was born in 1956. They later purchased the Ullrich Ranch from Karl’s parents and spent many happy years there. Ruby enjoyed her yard and flowers, playing softball, and painting pictures. She also loved riding motorcycles with her neighbor friend Loretta Mangen. She was a fierce competitor in a game of pinochle, or a game of horseshoes! Ruby especially enjoyed her 5 grandchildren. She was a woman of great faith, having attended, was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Scranton. She later became a charter member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Broadus She liked singing and playing the old hymns on her piano. Karl and Ruby separated in 1996 and she moved to Broadus and formed new friendships there, and enjoyed the Senior Center and driving her golf cart around town. Ruby was preceded in death by Karl Ullrich, her parents, and 5 brothers: Sidney, Karl, Ernest, Harry and Frank Griff. Also preceding her was her grandson Adam Ullrich. She is survived by her two sons, Victor (Laura Lee) and Vernon (Kay) all of Broadus, 4 grandchildren, Amy Minow (Tom) of Olive, Dr. Jennifer Mattingley (Rob) of LaCrosse Wisconsin, Doug Ullrich (Laura) of Vail Arizona, and Jason Ullrich. She also had 7 great grandchildren: Miranda and Kyle Minow, Taylor, Leah and Hudson Mattingley, and Eleanor and Anna Ullrich. She is also survived by her youngest brother Herbert Griff of Dickinson, ND, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Powder River Manor for the love and care they showed to Ruby for the past 5 years.
