Description	:	Ruby C. Sievers, 91, of Ponca, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 at Elms Health Care Center in Ponca. Funeral services were held Monday at United Methodist Church in Ponca, with Pastor Sheila Taylor officiating. Burial was in the Ponca city cemetery. Ruby was born in rural Thurston on Sept. 24, 1919, the daughter of George and Alecia (Rice) Lemmon. She attended school in Thurston and Pender, graduating from Pender High School in 1937. Burial was in the Ponca city cemetery. Ruby was born in rural Thurston on Sept. 24, 1919, the daughter of George and Alecia (Rice) Lemmon. She attended school in Thurston and Pender, graduating from Pender High School in 1937. After high school, she worked for Attorney Robert Fuhrman. She married Frank Sievers on Feb. 2, 1939 at Pender. Ruby was a homemaker, raising five children. Her family moved to Ponca in 1951, where she worked for Merle Kingsbury as a legal secretary in the county attorney's office for almost four decades. She was a member of Ponca's United Methodist Church, serving as district officer. She also was on the church council and in the Methodist women's organization. Ruby was a member of the Ponca Legion Auxiliary, Girl Scouts leader, volunteer for the blood bank and Elms Health Care Center and was a member of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska. She enjoyed camping, bowling, sewing and knitting. Survivors include two sons, Jim and wife Karen of Guthrie Center, Iowa, and Frank and wife Barbara of Ponca; three daughters, Carla Boeshart and husband Dan of Emerson, Kathy Fox and husband Gary of Hawarden, Iowa, and Janette Youker and husband Mark of Chanhassen, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in Nov. 1997, and nine brothers and sisters, Fred, Rue, Hillard, John, Harold, Bill, Renee, Mernie and Iona.
