Mrs. Mongan was born on May 24, 1905 at Cherokee, Iowa to Edward G. and Hattie Belle (Brooks) Warner. On March 8, 1924 she married Walton R. Mongan in Cherokee. She had been a resident of the Cherokee area most of her life. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, the Esther Circle, and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, working in the garden, babysitting with area children and helping in her Church and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include two sons: Robert Mongan and his wife, Marga, DeSoto, Iowa; and Dean Mongan and his wife, Norma, Cherokee; one daughter: Connie and her husband, Ed Allbaugh, Acton, California; a daughter-in-law: Charlene Mongan, Cherokee; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter on April 4,1956; a son, Donald Mongan on December 31,1982; two brothers; and three sisters.
