Born in Carroll County in 1920 to Nancy Jane Allen and Rufus Rippey, she was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, E.O. "Mutt" Semones; and a son, Johnson Glen Semones. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hillsville for 55 years, where she was active in Sunday School, W.M.U. and Lottie Moon Circle. Born in Carroll County in 1920 to Nancy Jane Allen and Rufus Rippey, she was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, E.O. "Mutt" Semones; and a son, Johnson Glen Semones. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jane and Lincoln Weddle, of Roanoke, Sue Cox, of Hillsville, Willa and Ralph Shropshire, of Collinsville, Brenda and Richard Wingate, of Independence, and Phyllis and Charles Larrowe, of Woodlawn; sons and daughter-in-law, Bob and Lynda Semones, of Pulaski and Dan Semones, of Roanoke; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Hillsville, with Dr. Lawrence Childs, Pastor Michael Shockley, and Pastor David Bays officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday beginning at 11 a.m. and lasting until service time. Flowers are appreciated, but donations may be given to the First Baptist Church, 1401 North Main Street, Hillsville, VA 24343 in her memory, or to the charity of your choice .
