Description	:	Ruby Martfeld, 58, of LeMars, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 1994, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars. Mrs. Martfeld, the former Ruby Lee Berger, was born June 6, 1936, at Sioux City to Walter and Florence (Greenwood) Berger. She was raised in Hinton and graduated from Hinton High School. She married Walter Martfeld June 20, 1954, at St. John's Lutheran Church in LeMars. The couple made their home on a farm north of LeMars. She had worked for J.C. Read More	Ruby Martfeld, 58, of LeMars, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 1994, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars. Mrs. Martfeld, the former Ruby Lee Berger, was born June 6, 1936, at Sioux City to Walter and Florence (Greenwood) Berger. She was raised in Hinton and graduated from Hinton High School. She married Walter Martfeld June 20, 1954, at St. John's Lutheran Church in LeMars. The couple made their home on a farm north of LeMars. She had worked for J.C. Penney, VanderMeer Bakery, and K-Products. She was presently involved with her daughter, Sheryl Heissel, in providing day care. She cherished time spent with her family and grandchildren. Mrs. Martfeld was a member of St. John's Luther ELCA, St. John's Altar Guild, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors are her husband; two sons, Russell Martfeld of LeMars, and Ronald and his wife, Shelly, of LeMars; two daughters, Susan and her husband, Clifford Eye of Kansas City, Mo., and Sheryl and her husband, Randy Heissel, of LeMars; six grandchildren, Derek Eye, Brian Eye, Ryan Heissel, Craig Martfeld, Megan Martfeld, and Nicholas Heissel. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran ELCA with the Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today (Monday) with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars. ~source: LeMars Daily Sentinel
