Read More	Ruby Peters Oct 31, 1935 - Sep 20, 2020 Ruby Lee (Miller) Peters of Winfield KS crossed over to her Heavenly Father on September 20, 2020 in Ozark MO. She was 84 years, 10 months and 19 days old. Ruby was born October 31, 1935 in rural Smith County, Kansas. She was the second of three daughters for Emmett LeRoy and Mable Marie (Kissell) Miller. She married Herman Earl Peters on October 10, 1954 and gave birth to four children. They resided in Topeka, KS 1960-1969 then moved to Lincoln, KS where they lived for over forty years. Health issues then caused them to live with their youngest daughter in Winfield, KS. Ruby worked for a time in the Lincoln Elementary School assisting the librarian. She loved books, particularly children’s literature. Ruby also for over 35 years provided day care in her home. She delighted in “her kids” and kept up with each of them into their adulthood. It was a huge regret in later years that health issues would not allow her to continue caring for children. Ruby’s hobbies included reading, oil painting and pencil drawing. She also wrote about her life in hopes of providing a historical record of growing up in rural Kansas. Ruby attended the United Methodist Church in Lincoln, KS where she was active in teaching, ladies’ groups and other service. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents and husband H.E. “Pete” Peters. She is survived by her four children – B. L. Peters of Ozark MO, K. E. (S.) Peters of Hutchinson KS, R. F. Peters of McPherson KS, and Robin Ann (Robert) of Winfield KS: sisters Rose Marie of Ellsworth KS and Doris Louise of Colby KS; step-sisters Lenna and Phyllis; 2 nieces, 2 nephews and numerous grand nieces and nephews. Interment will be at the South Oak Creek Cemetery in Lebanon, KS. Due to national health concerns, a Life Celebration will be held at a later date. Adams Funeral Home
