Ruby was a supervisor at Azon Corporation for 17 years retiring in 2005. She died April 13, 2006, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, at age 58. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Vernon Monahan; daughter, Connie Marie Ruby (Christopher); son, Matthew A. Monahan; grandchildren, Jonathan and Ethan Ruby all of Council Bluffs; sisters, Mary Ann Lussier (Randy) of Hubbard, NE; Debra Mead (Bill) of Dow City; and Diane Deck (Kenneth) of Newmanstown, PA; brothers, Kenneth Van Cleave of Omaha; James Van Cleave (Sue) of Mapleton; and Roger Van Cleave (Alice) of Emmetsburg; and other relatives. A funeral Mass was held April 17, 2006, at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church with Rev Paul Monahan officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery Portsmouth. Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
