Read More	Wenatchee World - Dec 11, 2005 Ruby Lorene Murray Bryant Finkbeiner transitioned to heaven to be with Jesus for Christmas on December 8, 2005, at the age of 85, surrounded by her family. Ruby was born January 10, 1920, in Conaway, Oklahoma to Dee and Della Murray. She was one of 7 children, 4 boys and 3 girls. Her childhood days were spent in Oklahoma, attending school and helping on her grandfather's farm. It has always been rewarding to talk about the fun events that occurred in her childhood. The memories of walking several miles to school or hooking up the horses to the wagon so everyone could go to church on Sunday morning while sitting in the back of the wagon swinging her feet over the side. In 1936, Ruby married her first true love, Charlie Hester Bryant. They lived in Oklahoma while Chock worked for the railroad and farmed, they had four beautiful children, one boy and three girls while in Oklahoma. In 1945, they made their way to Wenatchee to seek a better life joining other extended family that had relocated to the Wenatchee Valley. Perhaps she could have been called one of those migrant Okies that just kept moving into the valley during those days. After arriving in Wenatchee, they had one more girl child, for a total of five children. Chock went into construction and Ruby most of the time stayed home to raise her children. After her children were grown, she began to work in the fruit sheds which she enjoyed very much. After they were married for 38 years, Chock took a trip to heaven to be with Jesus in 1974, leaving her alone in the big white house on First Street. Those were lonely days, but certainly days that God was directing. She began to work at the Eye and Ear Hospital Cafeteria and it was not long before Rev. Chester Finkbeiner (1907-2003) was coming in on a regular basis to have lunch with her. In August of 1984, they were married and she decided to sell the family home and move to South Hills Drive with Chester, the 2nd love of her life. Chester and Ruby were married for 19 years and then on January 23, 2003, at the age of 95, Chester also took a trip to heaven to be with Jesus. Ruby was one of the most amazing women with great spiritual strength. Both of her parents died when she was a child, she went to live with her grandparents and then her grandmother died. She lost both husbands to death and two of her five children. She also has lost four brothers to death. She once stated that she was almost afraid to love for fear those she did love would die. Yet with these obstacles in her life, she was so full of laughter and jokes displaying a constant strength of her family and friends with her ability to be always ready to listen and care. The house on First Street was always full of people, sometimes it seemed like a hotel. But Ruby loved it that way, laughter, games, fellowship and love were all standard items in her environment. The kitchen table was a favorite spot to sit and just talk about the day's activities or problems that you may have had. She always had time for everyone and if you asked, she would share her wisdom with you, but only if you ask. Those times will be sorely missed. Ruby is survived by her daughters, Betty and husband, Ron Edgbert of Seattle, Wilma and husband, Gary Morell of Wenatchee, and Carolyn Tower of Boise, ID; two special son's, John and wife, Mary Finkbeiner of Oregon, Jim and wife, Nancy Finkbeiner of Port Townsend; she had 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lila Allen of Wenatchee, and Beaula Weathers of Texas. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Dee and Della Murray; and two husbands, Charlie Bryant in 1974, and Rev. Chester Finkbeiner in 2003; one son, Charles Edward Bryant in 1997; and 1 daughter, Anna Lorene White in 2004. Funeral Services will be held at the Wenatchee First Church of the Nazarene located at 1011 South Miller Street on Monday, December 12, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Tom Ness, Rev. Floyd Schwanz, and Rev. Jim Finkbeiner will be conducting the services at the church. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to The First Church of the Nazarene, Wenatchee. Funeral Services under the direction of Betts Funeral Home.
