Mrs. Strickland was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Morgan Linwood Wiggins and the late Nettie Gause Wiggins Turner. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Maelene Coleman Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellie Strickland, who died in 1996. Mrs. Strickland was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Morgan Linwood Wiggins and the late Nettie Gause Wiggins Turner. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Maelene Coleman Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellie Strickland, who died in 1996. Surviving are her children; Ricky (Linda) Strickland, Cynthia (Benjamin, I) Lanier, and Nancy (Hal) Lawrence, all of Florence; six Grandchildren, David (Lisa) Strickland of Savannah, GA, Daniel Strickland of Florence, Benjamin II (Kristin) Lanier of Mt. Pleasant, Joshua Lanier, Jessica Lawrence both of Florence, and Janet Lawrence of Columbia; four Great-Grandchildren, Andrew, Jonathan, Katelyn Strickland all of Savannah, GA, Benjamin III Lanier of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Jimmy (Patsy) Wiggins of Greensboro, a sister, Elloree McCutcheon of Lake City; other siblings, Betty Thrailkill of Cheraw, Virginia Morris and Flo Semkin both of Charleston; and a special sister-in-law, Jeanette Anderson of Timmonsville. Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 10 in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to McLeod Hospice House P.O.
