Description	:	Ruby Mae Determann, age 81, of Early, IA, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, IA. Ruby was born on June 13, 1931, to Carl Albert and Wilhemnia "Minnie" (Steckelberg) Bandow. She grew up in Manilla, IA where she attended school graduating from Manilla High School. Ruby was born on June 13, 1931, to Carl Albert and Wilhemnia "Minnie" (Steckelberg) Bandow. She grew up in Manilla, IA where she attended school graduating from Manilla High School. On June 9, 1948, Ruby was united in marriage to Vincent J. "Dude" Determann in Denison, IA. Three children were born to this union: Joyce, David and Steven. In March of 1961 they moved to Early. Ruby worked as a waitress in Early and later for the Graven Law Office. They enjoyed playing golf and playing cards with their friends. Ruby had a green thumb when it came to her house plants as they thrived under her care. She was a member of the Early Legion Ladies Auxiliary and served in many offices. She was currently serving as secretary. Ruby was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Early and after it closed she moved her membership to the First Presbyterian Church in Sac City. Ruby loved spending time with her family and grandkids and will be dearly missed. Survivors include her sons: David Determann of Sioux Rapids, IA and Steven Determann of Forest City, IA; nine grandchildren: Heather (John) Walker, Jason Finn, Raquel (Dan) Lins, Mandy Anderson, Sean Determann, Mathew (Rachel) Determann, Sara (Justin) Jenness, Nicolas (Nicole) Determann and Tyler Determann; nine great-grandchildren: Nicholas and Ryan Walker, Garrett and Gavin Lins, MacKenzie Determann, Riat Anderson, Haydn Determann, Carson Jenness and MacKenzie Determann; brothers and sisters-in-law: Keith (Fran) Determann of Correctionville, Glenn (Janice) Determann of Wall Lake, Darrell (Billie) Determann of Eagle Grove, IA and Darlene Garrels of Wall Lake, IA; nephew Randy (Diane) Bandow of Atlanta, GA; and many extended family members. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Minnie; husband Vincent; daughter Joyce Finn; brother Alvin (Sylvia) Bandow; brothers-in-law Donovan (Dorothy) Determann, Melvin Determann, and Richard and Kenneth Determann in infancy; sisters-in-law Phyllis (Reg) Wilcox and Mary Ann (Don) Tischer; nieces and nephews: Ronnie, Russell, and Roberta Bandow.
