Ruby Atkins was born on August 22, 1907, the daughter of Eli Adelbert and Lorinda Burr Atkins in Rochester. She married Harry N. Duffield on Oct. 18, 1924, in Fort Madison. he died Dec. 11, 1965. She later married Harold C. Troxel on March 8, 1967, in Muscatine. He later died on Sept. 20, 1989. She also enjoyed cooking, fishing, music, traveling, quilting and croqueting. She had attended Wesley United Methodist Church for many years. Ruby will be deeply missed by five daughters; Sophia McDonald and Donna J. Lentocha, both of Muscatine, Velma Graham and husband James of Moline, Ill., Lillian Profitt of Hermitage, Mo., and Lorinda Schmelzer of Buffalo, Mo., two sons; Harry Duffield and wife Tommie of Ingleside, Texas, and Myles Duffield and wife Pat of Clovis, N.M., 24 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two sisters, eight brothers, and one great grandchild.
