She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Oscar Banks Hinson and her second husband, Bruce Gainey. She was owner of Hwy 73 Seafood, Albemarle and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was also a board member of Albemarle City Council from 1983 to 1987. She is survived by her son Sonny Hinson of Albemarle; sisters, Hazel Phillips and Helen Smith both of Albemarle; grandson, Banks Hinson III of Albemarle and many nieces and nephews.
