Description	:	Ruby McGinnis, age 84, of Yankton, South Dakota and formerly of rural Marion, South Dakota, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yankton with Reverend Mark Lichter officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. Visitation is from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with a Scripture service at 7:00 PM, followed by a video tribute, and a rosary at... Read More	Ruby McGinnis, age 84, of Yankton, South Dakota and formerly of rural Marion, South Dakota, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. Visitation is from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with a Scripture service at 7:00 PM, followed by a video tribute, and a rosary at 7:45 PM. Visitation continues one hour prior the funeral at the church. Ruby was born September 16, 1927 to Albert and Alice (Massey) Unruh and grew up on the family farm in rural Marion. She also spent some of her childhood in Chicago and Yankton. Ruby attended Marion High School for three years before graduating from Yankton High School in 1944. She married Julius McGinnis on May 6, 1946. Ruby and her husband lived in Yankton, Omaha, and Kansas City before settling on the family farm in rural Marion in 1955. There they farmed and Ruby worked at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion for 21 years. She was also active in the St. Mary's Church Altar Society in Marion. The couple retired in Yankton in 1996. Ruby is survived by her two children, Judy (Dennis) Suess of Vermillion and Br. David McGinnis, O. Carm of Yankton; and by her granddaughter, Jennifer Suess of Denver.
