She attended Creighton Public Schools to eleventh grade. She married Leon Krueger Oct. 10, 1941, at Dakota City. Leon and Ruby farmed in the Foster area for 25 years, where they raised their four boys. In 1967, they moved and farmed in the Meadow Grove area. After retiring from farming, they moved to Norfolk in 1987, where Leon enjoyed his garden and Ruby began a new career in in-home daycare. She tended her garden and grapevines along with volunteering at Salvation Army in Norfolk. In 2005, Ruby went to reside at Skyview Villa Assisted Living in Norfolk. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She still had a small garden while residing at Skyview Villa. She had been a resident at St. Joseph’s Nursing home since May of 2008. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Norfolk, and 55 + Club. Survivors include two sons, Edwin Krueger of Columbus, Edward Krueger of Columbus; two daughters-in-law, Lillian Krueger of Orchard, Eileen Turner of Minnedosa, Manitoba, Canada; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ella Froehlich of Anaconda, Mont. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leon passed away Dec. 12, 2002; two sons, Lee and Orville; great-grandson Logan; grandson-in-law Ron; one brother, Gerald; two sisters, Inez Lee, Florence Henzler. Organist will be Sallie Pryor with congregational hymns “How Great Thou Art,” “In The Garden,” “Just A Closer Walk With Thee.” Casket bearers will be Rod Krueger, Lee Krueger, Clayton Krueger, John Krueger, Steve Krueger, Joey Dreifurst. Honorary casket bearers will be Alan Krueger, Matthew Krueger, J.R. Krueger.
