This is a transcription of the attached photo of his obituary, from "The Campbell News", 1 Jan 1959, page 1: Services Held Dec. 21 For Rudolph Henkel, 59 Rudolph August Henkel was born [1] October 1899 at Campbell, Nebraska, the son of August Henkel and his wife Sophia, born Wiechmann. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church December 26, 1899 by the Rev. O. G. Klatt. After due instruction in the Word of God he was confirmed April 5, 1914 by the Rev. H. W. Robbert. He was a member of the Lutheran Church all his life. On June 3, 1925 he married Helen Endorf. This union was blessed with three children, Glenn of Bladen, Winston of Blue Hill, and Gayle of Passaic, N. J. On his way home on Wednesday evening, December 17, his car left the road and landed in a. ditch about 34 mile east of Campbell. His body was found by a state patrolman at about 9:30 p. m. He reached the age of 59 years, 1 month, and 16 days and saves to mourn his sudden death his wife Helen, three children, Glenn, Winston, Gayle; five grandchildren, two brothers, William Henkel of Philadelphia, Pa., and Fred Henkel of Ree Heights, S. D., and three sisters, Mrs. Alma Koch of Los-Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Leo LHeureux and Mrs. Paul Meyer of Campbell. Funeral services were held Sunday, December 21 at 2:30 p. m. at Trinity Lutheran Church of Campbell. The Rev. Henry Pralle officiated. Music was by the Walther League Choir. Pallbearers were Walter Meyer, Charles Duval, Rudolph Betz, Albert Schmale, Leo Schmidt and Fred Bartels. Interment was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
