Description	:	Rudolph Bartu, a former Creighton Public School student, who had resided with Mr. and Mrs. Francis Ruzicka, when they lived on the Otto Winter farm at Bazile Mills, was buried in Plainview, Sunday. Rudolph, who was more familiarly known as Joe, was living with Mr. and Mrs. Francis Ruzicka, 15 miles south of the Creighton depot. His death was accidental. It occurred last Friday. Read More	Rudolph Bartu, a former Creighton Public School student, who had resided with Mr. and Mrs. Francis Ruzicka, when they lived on the Otto Winter farm at Bazile Mills, was buried in Plainview, Sunday. Rudolph, who was more familiarly known as Joe, was living with Mr. and Mrs. Francis Ruzicka, 15 miles south of the Creighton depot. His death was accidental. It occurred last Friday. He was operating a spring tooth hay rake in a hay field. He had dismounted to make some adjustment about the harness of the team. He mounted the rake from the rear and was reaching for the lines, which had fallen to the double tree. The team started too quickly, one wheel standing a tractor standing near. The impact threw the occupant into the rake wheel causing almost instant death. Joe was a nephew of Mrs. Ruzicka. His father, residing at Havelock, Nebr. is the only immediate relative surviving. Joe graduated from the Plainview public schools this year. He would have attained his 21st birthday the 13th of next December. He was the kind of young man to whom everyone would become attached. His vivacity, eagerness and willingness to do something for others was remarkable. His character was remarkable exemplary even though fate had destined him to lose by death, mother, sisters and brothers, during the fatal flu epidemic several years ago. There are many in Creighton, who grieve the death of this splendid young man, whose ambitions gave promise of a remarkable career, he having planned a complete university course of education, but which was thwarted by sudden death. ...The Creighton News 31 July 1930
