Description	:	Rufus was a son of Jonatha Dolloff Huckins and wife Abigail (Smith) Dolloff. His mother died when he was young. In the 1860 census Rufus was age 13 with his father in New Hampton New Hampshire and step-mother Elizabeth. He had siblings Susan age 17, Elizabeth age 15, and Curtis age 11. Rufus married Mahala J. (Marston) Connor, widow of George Connor, on Dec 24, 1878, she was age 40 and he was 33. I don't think the marriage lasted long as he seemed to be on his own in a few... In the 1860 census Rufus was age 13 with his father in New Hampton New Hampshire and step-mother Elizabeth. He had siblings Susan age 17, Elizabeth age 15, and Curtis age 11. Rufus married Mahala J. (Marston) Connor, widow of George Connor, on Dec 24, 1878, she was age 40 and he was 33. I don't think the marriage lasted long as he seemed to be on his own in a few years and Mahala was living elsewhere. In 1880 he was living in a boarding house in Laconia and working as a moulder. Rufus then boarded with widow Maria Wadleigh in 1900 in Laconia and was still working. In the 1910 census he was living in Concord NH and working as a moulder in the foundry. His wife Mahala died in 1909 and was buried with her first husband in Laconia. Rufus moved to Concord New Hampshire and worked in the foundry as a moulder. He was living in the hotel on the corner of Pleasant Street and Main St. He was age 63 and widowed in the 1910 census. Shortly after the 1910 census taken in April he returned from Concord and entered the Belknap County Home and Farm and tragically died there two weeks later at age 63. Rufus was buried in the Village Cemetery in New Hampton on May 20, 1910 with his brother Silas.
