Born in North River, he was the son of the late Henry and Bessie Robar. He was a member of and past Noble Grand of Pinegrove Lodge, No. 111, IOOF. He is survived by his wife, the former Althea Publicover; six daughters, Margaret (Mrs. Ray Stevens), Aylesford; Vera (Mrs. Enos Langille), Farmington; Mrs. Juanita Sarty, Helen (Mrs. Laverne Carey), both of Bridgewater; Mrs. Carolyn Joudrey, Waverley; and Beulah (Mrs. Owen Zinck), North River; four sons, Mervin and James, both of Springfield; Richard, Bridgewater; Allister, at home; a sister, Laura (Mrs. Ellis Robar), North River; two brothers, Leander and Wilfred, both of North River; 37 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Murray; a sister and two brothers. The body rested at Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany. Funeral service was held in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North River, on Thursday, April 17, Rev. Greg Moore officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Lodge brothers, Cyril Acker, Murray Ward, Lemuel Lohnes, Alvin Robar, Percy Hupman, and Ladonia Selig. IOOF Lodge members held their service at the funeral home.
