Description	:	Russell Boyd Wooten, 75, of Pine Bluff, died December 19, 1997, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born February 12, 1922, at Clarksville, Tennessee, he was a son of the late James Jefferson Wooten and Alice Anderson Stone Wooten. He was reared and educated at Springfield, Tennessee, where he graduated from Springfield High School. Read More	Russell Boyd Wooten, 75, of Pine Bluff, died December 19, 1997, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born February 12, 1922, at Clarksville, Tennessee, he was a son of the late James Jefferson Wooten and Alice Anderson Stone Wooten. He was reared and educated at Springfield, Tennessee, where he graduated from Springfield High School. He graduated from Capital City Business College and the Federal Aviation Administration Aeronautical Institute at Oklahoma City. He served in the Army during World War II and was stationed in China, Burma and India. He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration as a traffic controller for several years before retiring in 1984. In 1968, he was appointed to serve on a two-year committee that rewrote the rules and regulations for the F.A.A. at Washington. He worked with Roscoe Bush and Abbott Goodwin to reorganize the American Legion baseball league in Pine Bluff and also served as board president for several years for the local chapter of American Legion Baseball. He enjoyed Big Band music and was an avid collector of Glen Miller recordings. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and American Legion Post 32. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie 'Honey' Lunsford Wooten, who died September 10, 1997; a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Wooten, who died December 31, 1954, and three brothers, Jack Wooten, Gilbert Wooten and Fred Wooten. Survivors include a son, Roger Wooten of Pine Bluff; a daughter, Cindy Wooten May of Pine Bluff; a stepson, Mack Cook of Pine Bluff; and three grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with the Revs. Rodger Thaxton and Siegfried Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Varnell Cemetery at Rison.
