Russell Chorpening was born Dec 5, 1912 in Oakdale, Ill., to George and Cora (Logan) Chorpening. He was educated in Washington and lived in the area most of his life. He married Zitta Bush on Oct 4, 1930, in Washington. He farmed most of his life and also was employed at Brewer Dairy, Northrup King, Cargil Co., and the City of Washington. He later marrid Eulah Lefever Patterson on Feb. 14, 1978 in Fort Myers, Fla. Survivors include; three daughters, Wilda Jean Reschly, Keota, Arlene Marie Wheeler, Iowa City, Angela Rae Chorpening, Washington; three sons, Richard Grant Chorpening, Wayland, Russell Francis Chorpening Jr., Shell Lake, Wis., David Merrill Chorpening, Washington; 19 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by hs parents, his wife Eulah in 1988, one son, two grandsons, five brothers and one sister.
