Description	:	Russell "Russ" Steinberg, 67, of Shell Rock, Iowa, died on Friday evening, September 2, 2016, at the Waverly Health Center, Waverly, Iowa. Russ was born on December 31, 1948, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Raymond F. and Maxine (Jahnke) Steinberg. Russ was baptized on July 18, 1949 and confirmed in 1963 all at Saint Paul United Church of Christ in Denver. He attended the Denver school system, graduating in 1967, from the Denver High School. Read More	Russell "Russ" Steinberg, 67, of Shell Rock, Iowa, died on Friday evening, September 2, 2016, at the Waverly Health Center, Waverly, Iowa. Russ was born on December 31, 1948, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Raymond F. and Maxine (Jahnke) Steinberg. Russ was baptized on July 18, 1949 and confirmed in 1963 all at Saint Paul United Church of Christ in Denver. He attended the Denver school system, graduating in 1967, from the Denver High School. While in high school, Russ worked several jobs including construction. Following his graduation in 1967, Russ went to work for Carnation (Nestle) in Waverly, where he worked for 39 years retiring in 2006 On July 18, 1970, Russ was united in marriage Kathy Jean Weikert at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Denver. The couple made their home in Denver for 3 years, before moving to Shell Rock in 1973. Kathy died on October 22, 2012, as Russ continued to make his home in Shell Rock. Russ was a faithful member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Denver and a very dedicated employee at Nestle. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing in Canada, and spending time at his home in Highlandville. But most of all the love of his life was spending time with his family, especially his beloved wife, Kathy, sons and granddaughter. Russ was a very dedicated husband, father, grandfather and employee. Russ is survived by his two sons, Scott Steinberg and Chris Steinberg both of Shell Rock; one granddaughter, Kayla; his sister, Sue Steinberg of Denver; his step-mother, Marie Bradfield of Denver; his mother-in-law, Marge Weikert of Denver; two-sisters-in-law, Judy (Morris) Ferron of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, Connie Seeger of Waterloo; brother-in-law, Leo A. (Ann) Weikert Jr. of Scottsdale, Arizona; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Maxine and Ray and his wife, Kathy. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Paul United Church of Christ in Denver, with Rev. Craig Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Denver, and following the burial a lunch will be served at the Denver American Legion Post. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 7th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.mm. at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly and also for an hour prior to services on xx at the church.
