Read More	Russell Hicks, 88, died at 8:48 a.m. April 7, 2011, at his residence. He was born Jan. 1, 1923, in Hardin County to Hiram and Nancy Risner Hicks, who preceded him in death. He was adopted and raised by Joe and Myrtle Hicks, who also preceded him in death. On Nov. 9, 1946, he married Mary Imogene Recker, who died Aug. 11, 2010. Mr. Hicks worked at the Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant until 1965. He then owned and operated Hicks Auto Wrecking. Working on cars was his passion. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9381, Ada, and AMVETS Post 1994, Kenton. He will be remembered for his sense of humor. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Whenever a visitor came to see him they were always offered an ice cold beer. Survivors include two sons, Russell Thomas (Loretta) Hicks and Joseph H. (Jean) Hicks, both of Alger; five daughters, Nancy M. (Don) Coburn, of Lima, Marcella A. Hicks, of Harrod, Rhonda C. (Mike) Good, of Midway, Ark., Rebecca L. (Steve) Taylor, of Maplewood, and Connie R. (Mike) Stone, of Alger; 10 grandchildren, Angela (Ron) Johnson, Amy (Jeff) Herron, Jennifer (Kevin) Nolting, LeAnna (Dwayne) Ford, Desiree (Steven) Puckett, Lisa Good, Jon (Becky Strain) Good, Kaitlin Hicks, Craig Stone and Lynsey Stone; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Hiram Hicks Jr., of Reno, Nev., Jim Hicks, of Bluffton, and Bob Hicks, of Tennessee; and a sister, Bettye Kent, of Sun City, Calif. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, Jack and Richard Hicks; and a sister, Helen Peters. Per his request he has been cremated and there will be no services.
