Mr. Rigby died Monday afternoon August 16 in the Ogallala Community Hospital. Services were held Wednesday afternoon from the United Methodist Church with Rev. Cecil Lackore officiating. He was born August 25, 1900 at Bath, Indiana, the son of Frank and Fanny Rigsby. At the age of 12, his parents homesteaded northwest of Fort Morgan in the Wildcat region. On January 22, 1924, he married Ercell Greathouse at Holyoke. They moved to a farm near Venango where they resided for 45 years. He retired because of his health and moved to Ogallala. Mr. Rigsby was a charter member of Sterling Elks Lodge and was a paid Life Member of that lodge. He served on the Venango elevator board for 16 years. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Ercell of Ogallala, include one daughter, Mrs. Shirley M. Miller of Eaton, Colorado; one sister, Mrs. Jeanette Amburgh of Denver; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Bracken Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
