| Description | : | Killed by the White brothers because Russell refused to marry their niece, Miss Annie White. The Whites claimed Russell Sherrill had wronged their niece. They called him out on the porch in the night, of the Sherrill family home in Mount Ulla, shot him in the presence of his mother who begged for her sons life. The Whites were sentenced to six years in prison but were pardoned after serving only two years. |
