Russell 'Russ' Raymond Reasland, son of Mildred (Hogenkamp) and Robert Reasland, was born November 8, 1938, in Adams County, IA. He was educated in Creston Community Schools and graduated from Creston High School in 1956. Russ then joined the United States Army and was a reservist for six years. Russ married Margie L. Read More	Russ Reasland, 78, of Creston, died Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston. Russell 'Russ' Raymond Reasland, son of Mildred (Hogenkamp) and Robert Reasland, was born November 8, 1938, in Adams County, IA. He was educated in Creston Community Schools and graduated from Creston High School in 1956. Russ then joined the United States Army and was a reservist for six years. Russ married Margie L. Hoadley on June 13, 1965, at the Methodist Church in Greenfield. Russ was an electrician. He worked for and ran Lines Electric and then worked at Wellman's in Creston. He also farmed on the side, most recently with his son, Scott. Russ was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Creston and for many years was active with White Tails Unlimited. Russ is survived by his wife Margie of Creston; son, Scott of Lenox; daughter, Laura (husband Marv) Palmer of Creston; daughter-in-law, Tabitha Reasland of Creston; three grandchildren: Taylor Suiter, Sydney Suiter and Carter Reasland; brother, Glenn Reasland of Mountain Home, AR; sister, Bonnie Hodge of Creston; brother-in-law, Lawrence Marin of Creston and sister-in-law, Maxine Fulton of Waukee. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Eric Reasland, sisters Mary Ford and Hazel Martin, and a brother in infancy. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:30 Thursday, July 20 at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Delores Doench will officiate. Family requests causal dress. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in rural Cromwell. Open visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 Wednesday, with family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 at Powers Funeral Home.
