Description	:	Ruth Ahlean Wylie, daughter of Robert and Ethel Wylie, was born at Brooklyn, Iowa July 17, 1906 and died in her sleep at her home west of Guernsey July 19, 1954. She was 48 years old. When a young girl she united with the First Presbyterian church of Brooklyn and after her marriage transferred her membership to the Methodist church in Guernsey where she attended and took active part in the church work. Read More	Ruth Ahlean Wylie, daughter of Robert and Ethel Wylie, was born at Brooklyn, Iowa July 17, 1906 and died in her sleep at her home west of Guernsey July 19, 1954. She was 48 years old. When a young girl she united with the First Presbyterian church of Brooklyn and after her marriage transferred her membership to the Methodist church in Guernsey where she attended and took active part in the church work. She graduated from Brooklyn High School and taught school for two years in Madison township, Poweshiek county. June 2, 1928 she married Eugene Hall and two sons and one daughter were born to the couple. The family farmed for several years west of Guernsey. Funeral services were held at the McAninch funeral home in Victor July 21 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Carl Rayburn in charge. Mrs. George Keller, organist, accompanied Arthur Lang singing, "Beyond the Sunset" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." In charge of the floral arrangements were Mr. and Mrs. William Schmidt and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Provin. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Brooklyn with Will Cordes, Fred Brau, Elmer Norden, Lynn Buske, William Schmidt and Howard Hicks serving as pall bearers. Survivors are her husband, two sons, Roger and Dale, and one daughter, Jane Ann, all at home; her mother, Mrs. Ethel Wylie of Cedar Rapids; three sisters, Mrs. Gene (Naomi) Rhinehart of Brooklyn, Mrs. Otto (Fern) Meyers of Cedar Rapids and Thelma Wylie of Des Moines; one nephew, Gaylord Rhinehart of Brooklyn; one niece, Mrs. Alvin Read of Ames and two great nephews, Terry and Ricky Read of Ames. Her father preceded her in death Nov. 21, 1947.
