Madison. Born 19 Mar. 1928, in Ft. Madison, she was the daughter of George & Barbara (Denning) Bishop. On Sep. 19, 1945, she married Carroll D. Farrell. Mrs. Farrell worked at Ft. Madison Community Hospital, Ft. Madison Community Health Center and for Mobile Health. She attended Scrub Oak Grade School and Donnellson High School. She earned her GED in her mid-forties and attended Southeastern Community College School of Nursing graduating as a licensed practical nurse. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, reading, sewing and attending ice cream socials. Survivors include four sons, Eugene Farrell of Ft. Madison, Mike Farrell of Missouri, Larry Farrell of Burlington and Dartanian Farrell of South Carolina; one adopted son, Larry Simmons of Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Marge Gunn, Bette Thompson, Flo Bishop, Arleta Bishop and Dolores Markey; and two brothers, Dale Bishop and Steve Bishop. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, and one son, her parents, one sister, and two brothers. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at King-Link Funeral Home & Crematory in Ft. Madison where the family will receive friends. The funeral for Mrs. Farrell will be at 11 a.m. Monday at King-Lynk funeral Home with the Rev. Jonathan Farrell officiating. Burial will be in Soldiers' Circle in Oakland Cemetery, Ft. Madison. A memorial has been established.
