Description	:	Funeral services for Mrs. Foster (Ruth) Rix, 80, were held Thursday, March 13, at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Robert Carey officiated. Burial was in the Groton Cemetery. Mr. Rix died Tuesday at Dakota Midland Hospital. Manley Green, soloist, sang “Abide With Me,” and a ladies quartet, Mrs. Robert Carey, Mrs. Leon Mennenga, Mrs. Lee Schinkel and Mrs. Clayton Sternhagen sang “Just As I Am,” accompanied by Mrs. Everett Kelley, organist. Casket bearers were Clark Craig, Kenton Eisenbeisz, Larry Fliehs, Robert Gibbs, Charles Morrissey and Bruce Zastrow. She attended grade school in Riverside Township; high school in Gustavus Adolphus Academy, St. Peter, Minn., graduating in 1912; graduated from Aberdeen Norman in 1914; and received a teacher’s certificate. She taught school in Riverside Township. She married Chester W. Craig June 14, 1916, near Claremont. He died in 1944. She married Foster Rix December 8, 1962, at Groton. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the United Presbyterian Women, Order of the Eastern Star, the PEO Sisterhood, the Three R Club and the Current Events Club. She had been a resident of the Groton area all of her life. Survivors include her widower; two sons, Donald of Groton and Beverly of Madison, Wis.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Charles (Betty) Butler of Fresno, Calif.; one step-son, Merrill Rix, Groton; thirteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, one son, one daughter, two sisters and one brother. Paetznick – Garness Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
