(Shaffer) Coble. On October 30, 1937 in Burnettsville, IN, she married Robert W. "Bob" Brooks; he passed away on July 7, 1994. She had worked for 34 years at the former Bryan... Read More	Ruth A. Brooks, 98, died on August 3, 2020 at White Oak Retirement Center in Manchester, CT. She was born on October 17, 1921 in Jackson County, IN to the late Floyd O. and Josephine H. (Shaffer) Coble. On October 30, 1937 in Burnettsville, IN, she married Robert W. "Bob" Brooks; he passed away on July 7, 1994. Ruth had lived in Monticello, IN since 1957, but had lived in White County, IN all of her life before moving to Connecticut to be closer to her family. She had worked for 34 years at the former Bryan Manufacturing in Monticello. Ruth was a former member of the First Baptist Church. She loved and enjoyed quilting and was an amazing homemaker. Ruth is survived by one daughter; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two siblings; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, David W. "Dave" Fisher II; and six siblings - Carl Coble, Jackie Coble, William Coble, Pauline Hook, Zona Wilburn and Veva Sands. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Raderstorf of Faith Covanent officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Riverview Cemetery.
