Born Feb. 1, 1928, in Point Marion, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Markwood Clarence and Nellie Pearl (Hoff) Glotfelty. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond R. Welch ; a brother, Emroy Glotfelty; and a sister, Virginia O. Hullett. Ruth Ann was a farmer and a lifelong resident of Garrett County. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was active in the Garrett County Horseman Association and with the Garrett County Agricultural Fair. She is survived by a sister, Louise H. Chapman, McHenry, Md./Tenn./Fla.; a niece, Sandra Savage, McHenry; and a nephew, William Welch . Services will be held at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ross Glotfelty officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
