Description	:	Ruth Annette Dawson was born January 12, 1916 in Coulee City, Wash., to Walter and Martha Gilbert. Ruth went to be with the Lord, October 19, 2010, in Brewster, Wash. Ruth attended grade school at Coulee City, riding her horse to school everyday. She graduated from Springdale High School in Springdale, Wash. in May 1934. She attended Sacred Heart Nursing School in Spokane and worked as a nurse at the Potlatch, Idaho hospital. She married Daniel C. Dawson in 1938. Read More	Ruth Annette Dawson was born January 12, 1916 in Coulee City, Wash., to Walter and Martha Gilbert. Ruth went to be with the Lord, October 19, 2010, in Brewster, Wash. Ruth attended grade school at Coulee City, riding her horse to school everyday. She graduated from Springdale High School in Springdale, Wash. in May 1934. She attended Sacred Heart Nursing School in Spokane and worked as a nurse at the Potlatch, Idaho hospital. She married Daniel C. Dawson in 1938. They raised two sons, Dennis Lee and Robert Scott, and one daughter, Kathleen Marie Dawson Trainor. Ruth and Daniel worked the family farm for 27 years. Ruth moved to Brewster in 1965 to care for her ailing father. She lived in Brewster 45 years. She was active in the BarBelles, Fireman's Auxiliary and the Community Log Church. Ruth sorted apples at Crane & Crane for many years. She loved to travel, visiting Hawaii, New York, England and Canada. She was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed fishing with her dad and son, Bob. She loved horseback riding, and throughout her life she had many dogs and cats which she loved dearly. She enjoyed a special friendship with Nettie Hanum, Phoebe Longnecker and her neighbor Hans Moen. Ruth's grandson, Jeff Trainor spend 2 1/2 years as Ruth's favorite chef and caretaker. She is survived by her children, Denny Dawson (Dawn), of Valley, Wash.; Bob Dawson (Kris) of Brewster; and Kathleen Dawson Trainor (Mike) of Aloha, Ore.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel C. Dawson (1916-1985) and infant daughter Maureen. She was a wonderful mother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Funeral services were held October 22, 2010 at Barnes Chapel, Brewster. Burial was at Valley Cemetery, Valley, Wash.
