She was born May 2, 1932 to Letha Maude and Claude Rush Clark in Mt. Hope. She was a long-time homemaker. In January 1952, she was married to Willard Fredrick Scheid. He preceded her in death. Her credo "I'm a fighter" proved to be true in her fight against her most recent bout with cancer. She enjoyed taking long walks, visiting with her neighbors and tending to her small flower gardens. She was preceded in death by a son, Gaylen, and grandsons, Devin Counterman and Christopher John Riemann. Memorials may be made to the Gaylen Scheid Early Intervention Fund at the Wichita Children's Home or the American Cancer Society in care of Carlson Funeral Home, which has the arrangements.
