Visitation will be held 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on September 26, 2021 at Silha Funeral home in Wibaux, MT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday September 27, 2021 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Wibaux with Father Jose officiating. Ruth was born on September 23, 1936 in Wibaux to Lee and Ruth Wyckoff. She was born in the house next door. Ruth grew up North of Wibaux and attended Been Country School and graduated Wibaux County High School. On August 24, 1956 Ruth was united in marriage to Peter B. Schieffer in San Diego, CA. Pete was serving in the US Navy. They returned to Wibaux in 1957. Together they had three children: two girls and one boy. Ruth worked at the First National Bank and the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (now FSSA) before working as the Secretary of the Wibaux Elementary School for thirty-eight years. She enjoyed working with children and helping them in any way she could. When she was not working, she was right there to help Peter in any way she could. Recently, she was asked "What do you enjoy doing?" She responded "Since I lost my husband, I enjoy mowing my lawn and working Sudoku puzzles." Ruth enjoyed her three grandchildren and told everyone about them. She could not wait for summers as they would come to spend time with her and there was nothing she did not let them do. They have the fondest memories of these years. This last year, Ruth had two great granddaughters that brought joy to her each and every time she was with them. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Pete; her son, Zachary and her parents, Lee and Ruth. Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia Schieffer (Robert Sydow) of Spokane, WA and Dolene (John) Anderson of Great Falls; her three grandchildren, Trevin (Maggie) Anderson, of Helena, MT, Jauna (Justin) Palin of Florence, MT and Ethan Anderson of Helena; her two great granddaughters, Emery Anderson of Helena and Adalynn Palin of Florence. Ruth is also survived by her extended family: Harriet Lawerence and Dorothy Begger of Wibaux, Betty Piesik of Glendive, MT, Bill Schieffer of Beach, ND, Paul (Elaine) Schieffer of Miles City, MT, Patty (Curt) Foust of Dillion, MT and numerous nieces and nephews.
