Description	:	Ruth Sides Poole Carter, 90, of Rockwell, died Friday, July 27, 2007, at The Meadows of Rockwell. Mrs. Carter was born July 28, 1916, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Julian Henry Sides and Cora Belle Trexler Sides. Ruth attended Rockwell High School and worked Rowan Mill for 34 years and Rowan Industries for 18 years until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, where she was a charter member of The Young At Heart Club and a member of WELCA. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis... Read More	Ruth Sides Poole Carter, 90, of Rockwell, died Friday, July 27, 2007, at The Meadows of Rockwell. Mrs. Carter was born July 28, 1916, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Julian Henry Sides and Cora Belle Trexler Sides. Ruth attended Rockwell High School and worked Rowan Mill for 34 years and Rowan Industries for 18 years until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, where she was a charter member of The Young At Heart Club and a member of WELCA. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis Poole, in 1967, her second husband, Quiller Carter, in 1998, a brother, Earl Sides, and sisters Lucille Poole and Vera Holshouser. Survivors include a sister, Pearl S. Barringer of Rockwell, four nieces and three nephews. Service: Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm Monday at St. James Lutheran Church, Rockwell, with the Rev. Craig Sigmon, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Matthews Lutheran Church Cemetery, Salisbury. Visitation: Visitation will be on Monday from 1-2 pm at St. James Lutheran Church. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 486, Rockwell, NC 28138. Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell is assisting the Carter family.
