A native of Charlotte, N.C., she was the widow of Horace B. Burnsed Sr. and daughter of the late John Quincy and Mary Childress Boughman. She was a former co-owner of Burnsed Marble and Granite Co. and was active with the Business and Professional Women of Union, serving as former president. Read More	UNION - Ruth Boughman Burnsed, 89, of 112 Fant Lane, died Aug. 7, 1998, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after an illness. A native of Charlotte, N.C., she was the widow of Horace B. Burnsed Sr. and daughter of the late John Quincy and Mary Childress Boughman. She was a former co-owner of Burnsed Marble and Granite Co. and was active with the Business and Professional Women of Union, serving as former president. She was a member of the Herbalist Garden Club and was a charter member of the Union Seventh Day Adventist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Juanita Burnsed Brown of the home; a son, Horace B. Burnsed Jr. of Prosperity; a half-sister, Pansy B. Bourne of Aynor; two half-brothers, George Boughman of Union and Timothy Boughman of Washington; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home's chapel, conducted by the Rev. Marvin Hunt. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery. The family is at the home, 112 Fant Lane, Union. Memorials may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, P.O. Box 591, Union, 29379; or to a charity of one's choice.
