Description	:	Ruth Elaine Myers, 76, of Eddyville, formerly of Chillicothe, died March 2, 2010, at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia. She was born May 15, 1933, in Ottumwa Hospital to James Arthur and Wanda Alice (Shilling) Hendricks. She grew up and attended school in Chillicothe before moving to Eddyville later in life. Read More	Ruth Elaine Myers, 76, of Eddyville, formerly of Chillicothe, died March 2, 2010, at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia. She was born May 15, 1933, in Ottumwa Hospital to James Arthur and Wanda Alice (Shilling) Hendricks. She grew up and attended school in Chillicothe before moving to Eddyville later in life. Ruth married George R. Myers on July 19, 1952, in Chillicothe. George passed away on March 19, 1990. Ruth was a homemaker and a mother all of her life. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe before the church closed and she became a member of Eddyville's church. Ruth was also a member of Rebecca Circle. She enjoyed quilting, genealogy, being outdoors and flower gardening. Ruth loved spending time with her family, especially anything to do with her grandchildren's sports and band concerts. Ruth is survived by her children, Kathryn (Dan) Chambers of Eddyville, George Allen (Shelley) Myers of Albia, Judith Peterson of Eddyville and Wanda (Mike) Stephanie of Eddyville; and a nephew, David Hendricks. Ruth is also survived by 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Hendricks and Gary Hendricks; and one sister, Shirley Glandon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Wanda; her husband, George; one grandchild, one great-grandchild and one sister, Mildred. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Eddyville Funeral Chapel with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Eddyville Funeral Chapel; Rev. Brian Harris officiating. Burial will be at the Chillicothe Cemetery in Chillicothe. An open memorial has been established. Eddyville Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
