Description	:	Ruth was born on February 29, 1920 to Fredrick G. and Wilhelmina (Schlueter) Naber in Waco, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed her faith at St. John's Lutheran Church near Waco. She graduated from Waco High School in 1938. As a young adult, Ruth moved to California with her sister Nora, and attended Pasadena Junior College. Eng of the Army Air Corp. They were married in Brookings, South Dakota on... Read More	Ruth was born on February 29, 1920 to Fredrick G. and Wilhelmina (Schlueter) Naber in Waco, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed her faith at St. John's Lutheran Church near Waco. She graduated from Waco High School in 1938. As a young adult, Ruth moved to California with her sister Nora, and attended Pasadena Junior College. During WWII, she worked in South Pasadena, California as a supervisory inspector of radio crystals for the department of defense. It was in California that she met Sgt. Charles W. Eng of the Army Air Corp. They were married in Brookings, South Dakota on August 14, 1943. After living in South Dakota, with military transfers to Ovid, Colorado, Dalhart, Texas and Shreveport, Louisiana. After WWII, and her husbands discharge from the U.S. Army, Ruth and Charles lived and worked in Colorado. In 1947 they moved to Nebraska, and lived on an acreage south of York. Their first child, a son was born at that time. Later Ruth and Charles moved to Waco, purchased a lumber yard, and operated a construction company. After moving to Waco, Ruth and Charles had their second and third children. Ruth was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in York, Peace Lutheran and St. John's Lutheran Church’s in Waco, Nebraska. She served her Lord as a Sunday School teacher. She was also a 4-H leader, a volunteer at the York Senior Center and a personal caregiver. While her husband was a resident at the Grand Island Veterans Home, she volunteered her talents to mend patient linens. Ruth was an avid quilter and seamstress and taught each of her grandsons to sew. Ruth was a devoted Christian, having been baptized and confirmed at St. Johns as a young person. Ruth expressed her Christian faith with her devotion to her husband, children, grandchildren, and many people that she helped when help was needed. Ruth enjoyed traveling and believed that life is a continuous learning experience. Ruth passed away on December 14, 2014 in Grand Island, Nebraska at the age of 94 years, 9 months and 15 days. She is survived by her son and daughter's. grandchildren, three grandsons, three great grand son's and w great grandaughter's, a sister. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Wilhelmina Naber; husband, Charles Eng; brother Walter Naber; sisters, Nora, Esther, brother-in-law, Raymond Peeks.
