Description	:	Ruth E. Hofer, age 90, of Doland, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, at SunQuest HealthCare Center. Her funeral service was Sunday, March 9th, at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church with Rev. Ruth Esther Glanzer was born December 31, 1923, at rural Yale, to Jake and Mary (Miller) Glanzer. She attended school at Milford Township School until eighth grade and graduated from Doland High School in 1942. On January 31, 1943, Ruth married Paul P. Hofer at Bethel Church. The couple farmed many years in the Doland area. Ruth worked alongside Paul on the farm and in the crop spraying business. She could operate any farm machinery. They retired and moved to Stoney Brook and later moved to SunQuest HealthCare Center at Huron. Ruth enjoyed writing cards and letters and doing word search puzzles. Paul and Ruth enjoyed traveling to the Orient, South America, New Zealand, Fiji Islands, and Australia. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 71 years, Paul of Huron; two daughters, Pam (Delwin) Hofer of Carpenter and Mary Ann Wylie of Huron; one son, Todd Paul (Jolyn) Hofer of Doland; six grandchildren, Paul (Kristina Williams) Wylie, Jacob Wylie, Tim Hofer, Amy (Tom) Schoenfelder, Fancy Klover, and Tommy Whitley; two great-granddaughters, Hailey and Hannah Schoenfelder; one sister, Gloria Thiesen of Reedley, California; and three sisters-in-law, Lillian Glanzer of Marion, Alma Glanzer of Huron, and Justina Glanzer of Reedley, California; and her special four legged friends, Tiger Boy and Hamlet. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Roger on September 9, 1958; six brothers, Alfred Glanzer, Paul Glanzer, Rueben Glanzer, Jacob Glanzer, Joe Glanzer, and Ernest Glanzer; one sister, Virginia Wipf; one son-in-law, Charlie Wylie; one sister-in-law, Olivia Glanzer; and two brothers-in-law, Elgin Wipf and Milton Thiesen. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rudy Brockmueller provided link to parents. 8-23-2015 RAH # 48696513 provided link to spouse. 11-4-2018
