Description	:	Ruth Evelyn Wiedrich, 95, of Aberdeen, formerly of Roscoe, SD, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Wednesday December 2, 2015. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Aberdeen. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Aberdeen. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen. Born September 23, 1920 in Smith Mills, KY, the daughter of Reeves and Cora Key, Ruth grew up the eldest child of a tenant farmer in the rural south. She was a devoted daughter and sister who learned at a young age how to cook, clean, nurture children and work. In addition to her many household duties, Ruth found time do her school work, graduating from Smith Mills High School in 1938. She married Henry Wiedrich on December 19, 1943. After their marriage, Henry was deployed to fight in the European Theater and Ruth worked in a munitions factory in Evansville, IN. After World War II, Henry and Ruth moved to Roscoe, SD where they welcomed three sons to their family. Henry and Ruth operated Wiedrich Construction in Roscoe until moving to Aberdeen in 1973. While in Aberdeen, Henry worked for Quint City Coin Ops and operated a small farm while Ruth worked as a cook for the Aberdeen Public Schools. Henry and Ruth enjoyed 55 years of marriage until Henry’s passing in 1998. Ruth was a devoted mother to her sons and excelled at being a wonderful grandmother. She loved baking and cooking, gardening, serving in the church, reading, and spending time with her family. Ruth was always generous with her time, talents and resources. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many capacities over the years. Survivors include her sons Kenneth (Peggy) Wiedrich, Glenn (Rae) Wiedrich and Henry (Nancy) Wiedrich; sister Becky Wiedrich; sister-in-laws Tress Key, Lorraine (Verne) Reidt; brother-in-law Waldon Kallenberger; 13 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Henry, brothers David and Reeves, sister Nancy, daughter-in-law Diane and great grandson Tyler.
